Fire Department FAQs

What is a combination fire department?

A combination fire department is one that is staffed with paid personnel and relies on volunteers during certain times.  Many people that volunteer still need to work full-time jobs during the day and this can be detrimental to the fire department response during an emergency.  Therefore, departments will often staff firefighters during these hours and use volunteers during evening and night hours.

I’d like to volunteer - what do I need to do?

Please fill out the firefighter opening request and check the volunteer status.  Under "files/documents" you will find a volunteer application.  Please fill out the application and email it back or drop it off at the station.  A department member will contact you with the next steps in the process.
